Earth Day!!!
The very first Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970. This day was created by American Senator, Gaylord Nelson, to make people aware of the importance of keeping our planet healthy and clean. On that day, people made promises to help the environment and make positive changes in their community. Since then, more than 500 million people in over 180 countries have participated in Earth Day activities!

Vitruvian man
In Art and Maths we are studying how we can use the parts of the body for measurement. We started measuring firstly with our palms by using our hand span. We then began investigating the work of the artist Leonardo da Vinci. The most influential painting was the Vitruvian man, where da Vinci discovered that we can measure human proportions using other parts of the body. Using geometry he found out the interesting fact that our arm span is actually the same measurement as our height!
